Rubbings on tablets are a unique art form in China. They are also a model of calligraphy and a medium for people to spread culture. The study of stele extension is the study of epigraphy, which integrates art, historical materials, documents, crafts and bibliography. The earliest systematic research works were produced in the Song Dynasty by Ouyang Xiu's jigulu and Zhao Mingcheng's jinshilu, which can be regarded as the pioneers of the study of tablet extension. Since the Song Dynasty, the study of calligraphy has been flourishing day by day. Especially in the Qianlong and Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, the study of inscription reached its peak. In modern times, the research, appreciation and collection of inscriptions have become a discipline, which has aroused widespread concern.
