In the afternoon of August 13, 2025, the Academic Seminar on "Legal Guarantee for the Cultural Relics Cause in the New Era" was successfully held at Shaanxi Tang Tri-Color Glazed Pottery Art Museum. The seminar was hosted by Shaanxi Law Society and Northwest University of Political Science and Law, undertaken by Shaanxi Tang Tri-Color Glazed Pottery Art Museum and Shaanxi Qinwenyao Cultural Heritage Protection Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the School of Rule of Law of Northwest University of Political Science and Law and the Tang Law (Legal History) Research Association of Xi'an Law Society. Qin Hang, Director of Shaanxi Han Tang Stone Sculpture Museum, was invited to attend.
With the theme of "Thoroughly Implementing the Cultural Relics Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and Vigorously Promoting China's Excellent Traditional Legal Culture", the seminar brought together experts and scholars from practical departments at provincial and municipal levels, non-state-owned museums, universities and research institutions, industrial enterprises and lawyer representatives. It aimed to discuss the theoretical and practical issues concerning the legal guarantee for the cultural relics cause in the new era, further explore the contemporary value of China's excellent traditional legal culture, and jointly seek innovative paths for the construction of the rule of law in cultural relics in the new era.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Zhaonan, Deputy Director of Shaanxi Tang Tri-Color Glazed Pottery Art Museum. In his speech, Qi Yuejin, Director of Shaanxi Tang Tri-Color Glazed Pottery Art Museum, extended a warm welcome to all the guests present. Director Qi pointed out that non-state-owned museums are an important force in the cultural and museum system.
The academic seminar session was chaired by Li Xiaoguo, Deputy Director of Shaanxi Han Tang Stone Sculpture Museum. During the discussion segment, Qin Hang (Director of Shaanxi Han Tang Stone Sculpture Museum), Xu Yeli (Director of Datang Bronze Mirror Museum), Zhang Jie (General Manager of Shaanxi Qinwenyao Cultural Heritage Protection Co., Ltd.), and Pan Dengfeng (Senior Partner of Taihetai (Xi'an) Law Firm) combined their respective work practices to exchange views on topics such as the development of non-state-owned museums, the implementation of the newly revised Cultural Relics Protection Law, and the legal protection of cultural relics.
The appointment ceremony was presided over by Professor Wang Shirong, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Legal System and Rule of Law Civilization at Northwest University of Political Science and Law. At the meeting, Researcher Zhang Yun, Director Qi Yuejin, Director Qin Hang, Director Xu Yeli, and Director Wang Liping were officially appointed as consultants to the Tang Law (Legal History) Research Association of Xi'an Law Society. Shen Yuexia, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Research Department of Shaanxi Law Society, Chang Chun, Secretary-General of Xi'an Law Society, and Huang Bifang, Secretary-General of Shaanxi Xi'an Foundation for Justice and Courage, jointly presented the appointment letters to the newly appointed consultants.
Cultural relics protection is a vital undertaking that benefits the present and secures the future for generations to come. This seminar not only provided a platform for academic exchanges on cultural relics protection and the construction of the rule of law, but also pointed out the direction for the development of the cultural relics cause. In the future, all parties will continue to strengthen cooperation, deepen theoretical research, enhance practical exploration, and jointly provide legal guarantees for the development of the cultural relics cause.
